Liberals and Lemons

When life give you lemons, a conservative makes lemonade and sells it.  A conservative finds investors to help with the costs of water, sugar, and manufacturing.  They own the business, they own the profits, they employ people.

A liberal looks around for who is going to give them the sugar and water because hey, if they are forced to take the lemons they should have been given the sugar and water and the manufacturing plant.  Thus the newest product can be born "Lemonsolyndrade." Accidently the liberal squirts lemon juice in the eye and demand legislation of the safe use of all lemons.  In the mean time the lemons go bad.  Now that's just not fair they should be entitled to share the wealth of the prosperous conservatives lemonade.

Joanna

I don't know about that

It seems to be a fairly clear illustration of Runner's understanding of the conservative and liberal political ideologies.

The political message seems clear to me, not agreeing with the message does not invalidate the message.

And besides it is funny and people seem to be having fun with it

Interesting analogy thanks for the article

But, in order to get a piece of the conservative's hard earned wealth, the liberal will raise taxes, increase regulations, force the plant to unionize, and demonize the conservative for being wealthy. Then, if the conservative builds a new plant in a non-unionized state, they will use the NLRB to close the new plant in order to protect the unionized plant. They will only relent if a new deal is made with the union to create more work for them. If the conservative moves the plant overseas, they will whine about outsourcing while actually doing nothing to prevent it nor will they admit to being part of the reason for the move overseas.

They will demand their equal rights to earnings so everyone shares equally in the success. After all, why should the owner or investors who put up the money, profit more by creating the company (jobs) in the first place?

Why do conservatives make up silly scenarios and then present them as evidence of something?

The conservative, wanting to maximize profit, would not want to pay for the water, so without regulations they would scoop it out of the drainage ditch.

Sugar costs would affect profit also, so searching around they would find something that is white and powdery looking on the floor to replace the expensive sugar.

Then not wanting to give up their leisure time, they would find a 4 - 5 year old child and have them stand out on the street corner to sell their "lemonade". They would make sure it is a cute child so they can charge more for the product, and explain to the child that the more they sold, the better Santa would be to them next year thus saving on wages.

But being the polite, caring conservatives that they are, they would be sure to provide a bucket for potty breaks.

This way the conservative would maximize their profits with a couple lemons.

Not a lot of successful food business models out there based upon making their customers sick. Hey! You attracted a liberal laughing hyena who thinks their wisdom is funny.

I know some liberals who are nice people. They actually help people against the system and assist those who can't help themselves. You could call them blue dogs. They do it without the socialist ideology of give me what you have, I can handle it better than you can because "I only" possess the truth.

As far as I know, China is the only one that uses "melamine" as a filler in food for baby formula and other things. I would not trust their imports and lead has been used as a sweetener. And they have a government for the people? Communism or the PRC, Peoples Republic of China.

Conservatives are savers who build things while liberals tax and spent more than they make.

Thank you Runner99 for the lighter side of the fight.

    whino33, #15.6;

I hate statistics, they can reflect anything you wish to portray. Anyone who uses them does not understand how they are manipulated and most are guesses.

I am retired and meet my needs (NOT wants and desires) on less than $1,000/mo.

Of course, I don't have to raise a family and provide all their wants. And I've needed to be frugal all my life though I've squandered enough for several vacations in Hawaii when I got more than I was used to, I'll admit. But I don't blame the government for that.

But, even though I don't get a "Paycheck" I pay taxes. Fuel taxes, sales taxes, Federal excise taxes, import taxes, utilities taxes, 911 taxes (which I have used), TV cable taxes, school dist. taxes, transit, real estate, etc. ad infinitum, and also internet taxes. As do you.

When the government spends more than they recieve and makes cuts, it begins with services to the elderly and disabled as we are an underclass social group, as lepers to those better off.

Then the new President who claims to be for the people and says Medicare is broken, fixes it by cutting assistance, in his first year, 28% and eliminating medical equipment from crutches to mobility devices, diagnostics. and therapies. Force Doctors to stop treating patients on Medicare, hospitals to renegotiate health insurance contracts, and most to no longer to take new Medicare plan only patients.

Anthony, dear friend, I have other friends who are in the twilight of life, and he is "taking away from them also! President Obama is insensitive, uncaring, and dishonest.

    Let's define dishonest, shall we?

      Definition of DISHONEST

    1
    obsolete: shameful, unchaste

    2
: characterized by lack of truth, honesty, or trustworthiness : unfair, deceptive... Merriam Webster

Anthony - you forgot that SS also takes medicare out of your SS check before you get it. Probably at least $1300 to $1400 per year or more. At least that is what it is for me. Then there are the copays for medicare. And I hear Obama wants to tax SS. But maybe we are saved temporarily by this being an election year. I don't have cable, so without a signal where I live, I can't even watch liberal news.

I want to call you FRIEND, Anthony. I like to squander on sale shoes at Walmart once every year or two. I also just meet needs. However, I need a roof (picture this elderly woman on the roof putting down sheet plastic at the beginning of this winter when I found a leak) and can't see how it can happen with only $5 or $10 a year to put aside. I have fixed a furnace before in my life, replaced the fan motor...surprized how easy it was. But it was a small furnace. This house has a monster one, gas - scary.) I'm not complaining. This is just how it is. The plastic is thick and may last more than one year. I'm fairly resourceful trying to repair things. It does seem sometimes that we are just thrown away people...worked really hard, gained a modicum of wisdom from experience, helped people when we could without asking for payment...

But then you know what I'm saying. Our worth is greater than they will know, until they reach our age. HaHaHa I hope they remember reading our posts when they are creeping around and say "Dang! I didn't believe them. More fool me!" Because they will talk like us then. hahahahha

Now there you go, how could I ferget a little thing like that? Three years ago I almost had to pay income tax on my SSA cause I hit six jackpots at the casino that year and made over the limit..until I found out you can get a printout from the casino showing what amount you played including the little winnings that you replay. I can save up enough to play about every 3-4 months. My only outside entertainment cause it take 5-6 hrs. there and back on four buses each way.

There's an old German expression I use a lot; "Too soon old, Too late smart."

You be carefull galavanting around on roofs. Contact a local Catholic Community Services They'll have someone out there lickity-spit and you don't have to be a mackeral snapper for them to help and no missionaries will come pecking on your door.

The word I believe you wanted was "drivel".

I am also curious as to this 99%, which is mistakenly used by left-of-center adherents to indicate that every social/economic class (except the wealthy) are somehow linked together. In the context of your comments, this percentage is more than suspect.

Finally, the above adage regarding life and lemons is metaphorically inaccurate. However, I can see you might have had a tough time with:

"When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade" a conservative will take 99% of them. Yes, that would read a little weird. This can happen to the best of us.

I'm not saying that "all" regulations are evil. Some are very good with very good reasons. Come on lib50, I really have come to like you and find that you are the voice of reason. Common sense tells me that if a company has bad business practices they don't stay around very long. Today's technology with media that travels in real time, sorts out the good guys from the bad guys. A company that suffers bad publicity along with the financial consequences of our tort system won't make it.

I'm not saying all regulations are good either. Look, I'm sure there are PLENTY of regulations out there that are bs. I know there are. But I have a problem with people and businesses who screw over Americans at will, and lets face it, it happens all the time. They want to privatize the profits and socialize the losses. They are big and we are small, and they try to keep it that way (stopping class action lawsuits). Many, many regulations are to protect Americans and America. I don't really have a lot of time here, but my point about poisoning people is really (unfortunately) not off the mark. Companies today make decisions based on how bad a problem has to get FINANCIALLY before they make the changes that save lives. What would they do without those regulations? It really isn't a stretch.

No one cheers over bankruptcy. There are many families on the brink right now, and worrying how to put food on the table and pay the bills. Our credit rating is well....ours. We have over spent, borrowed more that we should, and we wonder how we can fool people into believing everything on the horizon is okey dokey. If I hired someone to come into my company as the new CEO and this person promised me hope and change, I damned well better get it. If this CEO borrowed and spent more money and told me that my company would be better for it in a down economy, I'd fire him/her in a New York Minute. What I would expect is that this person would be able to see the future, anticipate the outcome and insure my employee's would be secure. They would know and appreciate my work ethic, and what the company could afford to move it forward without the risk of reckless spending or borrowing. Risks of expansion require borrowing if the economy calls for it. That is not the call for today.

Liberals are not dependent on government programs. A large chunk of their voting block is. They know which side of their bread to butter. A great insidious plan; create a base then foster its growth while at the same time make it almost impossible to escape. It is much easier to buy votes that way then just handing out money at the polls. A practice many drug dealers employ , "The first taste is free". ;)

        These are words of wisdom!

President Obama and Democrats have demonstrated an inability to see the future: The national debt, credit ratings, Obamacare, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, property rights, et cetera. Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Democrats did not anticipate the outcome of Social Security. President Obama did not anticipate the outcome of Obamacare: It attacks freedom of religion, and brought up the issue of free speech by prohibiting reading of a letter to Catholic attendees at military services.

In a unstable economy with mountains of U.S. debt there is no confidence in investing in the market. He loses big. He does not give a rat's butt about the U.S. debt other than it's killing him in the market.

Good idea! Buffet has ulterior motives in all of this. If he gets the rich to pay more he thinks it will stabilize the economy enough that more people/investors will feel comfortable in the risk of the market again. It's a win for him big time with the shared sacrifice of others. The problem is, this additional income is going to encourage more reckless spending with this Administration. I think the new slogan for BHO this time around should be more truthful "Get more, spend more.....hello debt ceiling, I don't see no stinking ceiling"

The liberals started getting sick after drinking the conservatives lemonade and it was discovered that that the lemons came from a farm that openly uses toxic herbacides and pesticides, hires illegals to pick them then uses ethylene glycol to sweeten the lemonade (cheaper than sugar). Before the authorities arrive the conservative flees the country with his fourth wife and unrestricted access to the offshore accounts. He praises god for his salvation and he then complains openly about being persecuted.

No worries about being on topic. This is just a fun free for all! My father who is going to be 87 years old next month tells me that we don't get forgetful as we get older, we just have a lot more stuff to store. We file the important stuff in front.

Snarklemon Lemonsolyndrade, ha! That goes in the front file. No talk of quitting for you missy, you are far too much the voice of reason.

#24, .... Ummm, what's ur uh the name?

Lots of times I can't remember the little things I want 'cause of all the junk I've had to remember for so long. What would it be like if we could live for 200 yrs.? whew, a bundle of confusion.

If it weren't for "Word Web" an online dictionary, I'd be tang tonguegled. And I were a printer an spellang was a very important fart of the craft.

ps, I also enjoy cutting up and mangling our colonial Anglish.

        Hug comin your way!

A friend and I, (we talked about you a tad, wait, it was all nice!), and wondered if'n you're on Facebook? I believe he sent an E-mail your way? He got me into it and I've been busier than a cat trying to cover it up on a hot tin roof.

Anthony - No, not on facebook. Everyone around here who has facebook account has to have computers repaired once a month. Its not a needful place for me to be at that cost. I use telephone. hahaha And now I'm here.

And thank you runner for 24.1. I'm on my way off so had to stop by for my feel good fix.
